Sound and Light Show

Dendara Half Day

Dendara This day can start as you wish. You will be picked up from your hotel then travel to dendera, once arrived you will visit the most amazing and well preserved temple in the whole of Egypt, Hathor. Inside the temple grounds there is a cafe so you can sit back and relax before finishing your tour and making your way back to Luxor.

The whole complex covers some 40,000 square meters and is surrounded by a hefty mud brick enclosed wall. Dendera was a site for chapels or shrines from the beginning of history of ancient Egypt.

Abydos and Dendara

Abydos and Dendara Abydos is considered one of the most important archaeological sites of ancient Egypt(near the town of al-Balyana), the sacred city of Abydos was the site of many ancient temples, including a Umm el-Qa'ab, a royal necropolis where early pharaohs were entombed. These tombs began to be seen as extremely significant burials and in later times it became desirable to be buried in the area, leading to the growth of the town's importance as a cult site.

The Dendara Temple complex which contains the Temple of Hathor is the best preserved temple, in all Egypt. The whole complex covers some 40,000 square meters and is surrounded by a hefty mud brick enclosed wall. Alexandra the great built this temple in roman times, to make the Egyptians believe that he believed in the Egyptians gods.

Full day Edfu, Kom Ombo

Edfu and Kom Ombo You will start early in the morning heading south to visit the great Temple of the Falcon god Horus in Edfu you will then continue driving to visit the amazing temple of the crocodile god Sobek in Kom Ombo, once finished you will be brought back to Luxor.

Sobek was the deification of crocodiles, as crocodiles were deeply feared in the nation so dependent on the Nile River. Egyptians who worked or travelled on the Nile hoped that if they prayed to Sobek, the crocodile god, he would protect them from being attacked by crocodiles.

The town is known for the major Ptolemaic temple, built between 237 BCE and 57 BCE, into the reign of Cleopatra VII. Of all the temple remains in Egypt, the Temple of Horus at Edfu is the most completely preserved
